Burgos: serenaded by a Tuna (yes, that's right!)

A Tuna is a bunch of university students who dress in traditional Spanish clothing and play serenades, traditionally to raise money for their school fees. These guys had long since graduated but still enjoy the tradition!

They were also watching the football in the bar I was in this evening, and during half time they decided to sing me a couple of their songs! One of them draped a Spanish cape around me and they also started playing their guitars (including a small one made from a real armadillo) and singing! The music was wonderful! It was a surreal and fun, though slightly awkward experience!

Afterwards, I went to a few different plazas for their open air concerts -there was amazing jazz music, Mexican rancheros music and a blues band playing in the most amazing setting -in the midst of the ruins of an old monastery! That was my second choice of blip for today :-)
