Detail from a Zhen Xian Bao

I bought this at the World Textile Day I visited two weeks ago. The name translates into a needle case. It was made by the Miao people, an ethnic minority now living in South West China. This one is quite old, probably dating from the early part of the 19th Century. It is intricate stitching and is made using a fascinating paper folding technique. More detailed pictures can be found on my blog post today.
