The Lozarithm Lens

Bowood 2014 #24

I just got in under the wire before they closed the gates, and just had time for a circuit of the grounds, starting with Tractor Ted's and Big Pig. There was also a new 6-day old Aberdeen Angus called Molly who made loud moo-ings every time she caught sight of the handler, and four very tame hand-reared lambs who had been rejected by their mother.

There was lots of colour on the terraces outside Bowood House, and I was tempted to blip a garden blip, but as it relatively unusual for there to be a rowing boat on the Lake, I went with this shot of two anglers returning to the Boat House, in striking light. They'd caught me trying to get a candid shot of them on the lake a couple of minutes earlier - this is a problem with long lenses; you can't pretend to be taking something else!

I saw a pair of great crested grebes on the lake with two young. This time they were swimming behind one of them, and not hitching a ride on their backs.
