Gurdwara

A little bit of cheating here, since obviously I didn't take the photograph myself.

I was making a Ministerial visit to the new Sikh Gurdwara on the south side of Glasgow. It's a stunning building and is open for anyone to visit. I'd certainly recommend it. I was shown around by Charandeep Singh, a 22 year old medical student who is extremely knowledgeable about his faith.

One interesting thing: baptised Sikhs are those you see wearing turbans, beards etc. Sikhs who aren't complying with all these rules are described as non-adherent Sikhs but still have as full a role as they wish in the life of the Gurdwara and the community. Something we could learn from I think!!
