Sunday 13 July 2014: Hover fly having a rest
It was supposed to rain here this afternoon so we went for a bike ride in the morning to stay dry. Other than one imbecile in a white pick-up who doesn't understand high way code rule 163 "give motorcyclists, cyclists and horse riders at least as much room as you would when overtaking a car" and what that means on a narrow single track road with no passing places... it was a good ride.
When we got home is was nice and sunny and it hasn't rained at all - which is nice for me but not for some of the plants that would like the rain.
Today's blip is a hover fly having a rest on one of the flower in bloom in our wildflower lawn at the front of our house. Most of the flowers have now finished flowering but there are still a few left and plenty of insects to take advantage of them.
