Canal reflections

A beautiful morning for our 8.00am walk.
Starting by the Fisherman's Inn, we walked a short way along the Leeds-Liverpool canal before turning off into Hirst Woods and circling round through Bingley to return to the canal at the Three Rise Locks.

This stretch seen here is where the canal crosses over the River Aire. It was this river that we followed for the rest of the walk. Here you can see the three ladies I walked with in the distance on the right of the canal with Buster following on. On the left are two of the many cyclists that use the tow path coming from the direction of Saltaire.

A very nice start to the morning except for some long and wet grass that was full of flies on the section from Hirst Woods to the Bradford and Bingley Rugby club grounds.

As we arrived back at the starting point there was a magnificent barge moored by the pub. It sported a South African flag and was beautifully maintained. I would have blipped it but WilsdenWalker beat me to it!

Happy Bastille Day!
