Nearly grown! (backblip)

What a disappointment today was ....... it pelted with rain for most of the day!!!

It did clear up late afternoon ....... the sun even managed to put in an appearance now & then ....... so we went out for a ride to the riverbank.

We saw this young Great Crested Grebe ....... it has almost all of its adult plumage ...... just retaining its striped face. It looked so cute ........ it just had to be today's blip .... do hope you like it :-)

As we drove back we passed RAF Coningsby ....... the Lancaster was out on the tarmac ...... it is one of the last remaining that is still flying & forms part of The Battle of Britain flight! this one is named Thumper. It was too good a chance to miss ....... so we stopped & I got a shot of the cockpit as it was being moved back into the hangar. I have posted the shot on Flickr if you would like to have a look :-)

Thanks very much for the lovely comments & stars on yesterday's Peacock butterfly ........ so glad you liked it :-)

Thanks so much for dropping by :-)
