The Mighty Hen...

Well first full day of the Oban Camper Van holiday. With most of the tweakings to routine and van sorted out, we took a wee trip into Oban to sort out the last wee stragglers and have a wee nose around.

We found sea cadets practicing before heading out on a rather grandiose sail boat, the Oban distillery, had rather lush ice cream on the pier and the went to pick up the essentials in the bucket for grey waste and a wrench for the gas bottle.

The campsite is wicked. You drive south out of Oban on a single track road on the edge of the Sound of Kerrera. The signs say the the campsite is just around the corner but it just doesn't look like there is the space and then you drive up the hill to find this wonderfully maintained and run caravan and campsite almost hugging the side of the country.

They have these brilliant hen houses near the entrance, all brightly primary coloured. I actually managed to bag a few freshly laid eggs from the shop. They're not allowed to sell them because they don't have proper stamps or anything. They were lush.
