Life with The Pinks

bedraggled pirate!

We've had an incredibly busy day! Miss Pink's best friend (Godson 3) had his birthday party at Abberton Reservoir, and it was a pirate party. Unfortunately the band of pirates were rather bedraggled as it rained constantly while we were there. It stopped for a short while to do marshmallow toasting but then rained as the last one was toasted. It was a lovely party though, and one we won't forget in a hurry!!

We were absolutely soaked through after the party, but I knew where we were headed next we needed dry waterproofs, as we were outside again. That was fine for Miss Pink and me, but Master Pink had left his coat at cubs, so he didn't have a spare. We did a quick pitstop at asda and bought the cheapest kagoule we could find! And then headed to our friends house. Our friends Laura and Simon are fostering a special little girl at the moment, she's 8 months old and has had a rough start in life. She's a beautiful little collie cross, although what she's crossed with is uncertain! We went to visit them all and little Grace and Ewan, and took Pepper the foster pup and Teddy their own dog out for a walk. Teddy at some point decided he'd had enough, and walked himself home, which caused some drama and worry! He was fine.

Back at our friends house, we drank tea, ate biscuits, and the children played with Pepper. This is how the next conversation went:

Me: So <Master Pink>, Pepper has had a rough start in life, and she needs someone to love her lots. Well Simon and Laura wondered if we might like to do that. Would you like Pepper to come and live with us and be our dog?

Master Pink: really? YESSSSSSS!

Miss Pink was also told but her reaction was:

"Well can we have Daisy the rabbit (laura's pet rabbit)?"

She has come round to the idea, although walking Pepper might be a little more of a persuasion to start with!!
