Liquid spirit

A very bad photo (taken with my phone) of a very good concert: Gregory Porter and his group appearing at the Théatre de la mer as part of the festival Jazz à Sète. I've been following him via radio, CDs and reviews since he caused a sensation at the London Jazz Festival a couple of years ago, and I can confirm that he's now singing better than ever, his band are even tighter, and the whole spectacle is a very powerful and emotional blend of jazz, soul and gospel. Moving, uplifting, passionate, inviting - the 1500 or so people in this open-air auditorium on a cliff above the Mediterranean were clapping, singing, dancing, totally involved. Shows what jazz can do, still.
That's not a spotlight in the background, it's the moon over the sea.
