Not a Breath.....

.....of wind today. Overcast and very bleak.

But despite the grimness of the weather we took to the bikes and headed out on the trails to Rabbit Island and caught the ferry to Mapua. This little settlement is a delight and kind of “alternative” in some ways. There were lots of very cool little shops, crafts, pottery, art etc.

We were frozen, even after biking through the forest tracks for 15 odd kilometres. A coffee and muffin were devoured when we arrived.

Recharged, we took to the trails again biking to Ruby Bay and then back to Mapua to catch the ferry at 2 pm. We made it with 5 minutes to spare. (This blip is taken from the wharf).

We biked through the pine forests then and along Rabbit Island beach before biking around the estuary finally getting back to the car around 4 pm......41 kilometres biked, and felt good.

This sign was on the Rabbit Island side which made us laugh....

Attention
