horns of wilmington's cow

Turning Japanese...

Bit of a banquet laid on, I contributed roughly half, and all of it was just fab. Nice bright end to a ridiculously dull day.

Watching the concert on the BBC from Edinburgh Castle later in the evening I was struck by a number of things. Smokey Robinson is now a dead ringer for David Guest; Katherine Jenkins isn't very good; the song Barcelona needs a pop voice and an opera voice to work, not two opera voices; Ronnie Corbett was either drink or asked to appear at the last minute; the BBC knows nothing of Scottish geography given this was for the Commonwealth Games; and, after such a good concert (seriously, I really took to Rizzle Kicks (which sounded like Drizzle Cakes when introduced), Paloma Faith was great, as was the South African opera sooner whose name I shamefully can't remember, and add in Bill Bailey and Culture Club), why did they finish with John Miles????
