Stage 16 Tour de France

This is Vicento Nibali - the Maillot jaune and probably the winner of the 2014 Tour de France - although distanced in a group, with no direct threat to his position today.

That said, he was tested a little, not by Valverde, his supposed nearest rival, but by Thibaud Pinault, whose wheel he failed to latch onto as Pinault steamed away up the Cole de Balès.

Tomorrow could be a trying day with the Cole de Pyressourde, which I think will sort some of them out and finishing in Pla d'Adet at St Larry Soulan.

I've skied at St Larry and know it is very steep and I drove my 2cv up Peyressourde and it is mega steep too.

Anyway that's Le Tour de France for you - I saw Mark Cavendish in a car today as the riders came by and the combi was on France 3 for a few seconds as the helicopter filmed the tour passing.

Back to Toulouse tomorrow - work and all that, but just until Thursday, so maybe catch another stage or summat ...
