Four O'Clocks

You may know of the The Petit Family Foundation and the tragedy that lead to the creation of the Foundation*. Kristina Johnson brought the 4 o'clock seeds back for the boys in 2013. Today, we collected the new seeds from those plants which we are sending back to the Foundation in Connecticut. "Michaela loved Four O’Clocks, so the 25-seed packets are a wonderful way to support the Michaela’s Garden Project. It encourages people of all ages to become more involved in community service. Plant the seeds in mid-May, grow beautiful Four O’Clocks and then harvest their seeds at the end of the season. Then send the seeds back to us so that we can package and sell them next year to raise funds. It’s a circle of life that we keep nurturing!".

Unbeknownst to us when we collected the seeds, tomorrow is the remembrance service.

*The PFF is a nonprofit organization that memorializes Jennifer, Hayley & Michaela Petit while working to "be the change" within our community. On July 23, 2007 the lives of Jennifer-Hawke Petit, Hayley Elizabeth Petit, and Michaela Rose Petit were taken following a brutal home invasion. Dr. William Petit, Jr. was severely injured during the invasion, but survived the attack. The Petit Family Foundation was set up in order to help the Petit Family and ultimately continue the work and spirit of these three women.
