Acanthus mollis

Sometimes known as bear's breeches and brought to Britain by the Romans. The leaves inspired the decorations on Greco-Roman Corinthian capitals, so they do say. The plant in our garden didn't get cut down by winter cold this year as there wasn't any. Hence it is trying to grow as high as the quince tree it is supposed to be underneath.

Glorious summer continues. Fine so long as you don't try to exert yourself in the sun.

Off to pick more fruit.
