The Edge of the Wold

Hovering

The garden is quieter now as there are fewer plants in flower. The Japanese Anemones, on the other hand, have just started to open, and hoverflies are becoming more numerous. This one spent a long time feeding in this flower, and occasionally would have a test flight before homing back in again. By happy chance I managed to get a focus point onto him for this shot.

On the Knott this evening, there were a few scotch argus butterflies, and the bigger fella may blip one later. I have promised a blip of one too, though I need to find one on our morning walk when they are a little less flighty in the cooler air.
