The Big G, George Square, Glasgow

I took our visitors on a walk around the city today, to soak in the "Buzz" of the Commonwealth Games.

This was taken from a very high up venue, looking over George Square - I have my contacts!

Then up through the campus of the University of Strathclyde, along to the Cathedral, where we met several friends from the visiting Wildfire Team. We also had a lovely chat with the Minister of the Cathedral. The stained glass looked stunning in the sunshine, and there are some beautiful flower displays. A quick look up to the Necropolis, then down past the Tolbooth, for lunch at the TransEurope Cafe in Parnie Street.

Then headed into the Merchant City, and took in all the entertainers and stalls. We saw four of the Scottish Judo medal winners, at the Irn Bru stand, talking about their events. Lots of cheers and applause for their success.

The ladies then hit the shops, and a few photos with various "Clydes". The guys headed to The Pot Still for a wee whisky tasting.

Another very hot day in Glasgow, at least 28C again. We used our umbrellas as sun parasols.
