An Unkindness of Ravens

Dingo day

Every year (for the past four years, since finding out about the centre) we have visited the Dingo Discovery Centre on one of their open days. This helps them raise much needed funds to further the cause of the much maligned dingo (see their website for how badly treated this beautiful native animal has been and still is). But more than that, it gives us a chance to play with the adorable puppies!

Puppy season was late this year, so these puppies are only about six weeks old. I chose this image because you can see the normal sandy coloured alpine dingo with the more unusual whiter coloured ones (found naturally in areas with salt plains etc). This litter was purpose bred (with both parents being white) as they would only occur infrequently if only one of the parents was white. Dingoes also come in a darker black and tan colour, but there weren't any of those puppies this year.

We love dingoes!
