The view from here

In the hours between some family stuff we walked up to 'The Monument' It commemorates the fallen in the boer war. It is sited on the highest point in the Chiltern hills and commands a panoramic view of the Vale of Aylesbury. Somewhere down there is the place where I was born, the village where I grew up and the schools I attended. My brother and I both wondered if after today we would ever go back
