Koi

I'm thinking of attempting a detailed sprig mold for pottery class.
This koi fish design should work. I needed a photo from which to work. (Instant blip!)
Wedgwood uses sprigging.
It's making a relief mold, then forming the clay sprig (attachment piece), letting it dry until leather hard (firm but still pliable), and using slip to bond it to the main piece (usually a vase or bowl).
