Skuleskogen National Park

Today's adventure was a trip up to the spectacular ravine, Slåttdalsskrevan in the Skuleskogen National Park.
On the way up it was really hot and we swam sat in this pool where the water was refreshingly cold. Then up to the small tarns, Tärnättvattnen where we ate lunch, checked out the hut where visitors can stay overnight, and went for another swim in these warmer waters.
Sufficiently fed and cooled down we then went up to the ravine which was as impressive as ever, and then on to the top on the west side of the ravine. Here we could see the thunderstorm moving in towards us, and the visitors decided to head back down to the hut and tarns, reasoning that being on top of a mountain when lightning strikes are likely was not a good idea.
I headed up to the the top on the east side of the ravine to check out the new path leading up there and arrived on the top just before the storm really got going. More details of that on my flickr, here and here.
It was an extremely bedraggled Keith who arrived back at the tarns. Fortunately the visitors had reached the hut just before the rain reached it and had kept dry, though it was a little crowded with 11 people sheltering there.
After this we decided that we'd had enough adventures for now and headed back down to the car. We visited a couple of caves on the way down, experienced a steaming rain forest, and found the bottom path infested with minute frogs that the rain had brought out so even the trip down had its interesting points.
