Waterfront Cafe, San Francisco

We had a great day at the Exploratorium with Miss L, the granddaughter. It's been years since we all went there together, and now that the museum is in a new location it was fun to see which exhibits made the cut and which were brand new. True confessions--I'm not very into the science of things, but so fascinated with the patterns and movement of life: cell structure, the passing of air or water through sand, tiny pulsing organisms--all these amazing ballets happening all around us every minute.

I loved the exhibit showing how to photograph a drop of water as it splashes into a full cup--and yes, you could do it at home, but only after you acquire the laser. At one point there was a reflection of L's face in the drop of water just before it exploded, everything suspended in a perfect aha.

We are three exhausted people, tired and happy.
