Making......

.... a spectacle!
I had a busy day today, and didn't really have time to get out and blip. So sadly once again all I have to offer is a moth from my trap.
It is however a really nice moth, and another newby to my garden.
This little moth with a really interesting hairdo is a Spectacle (Abrostola tripartita) aptly named to reflect the 'spectacles' on the head!
It has a wingspan of 27-30mm, and is fairly common all over the UK and a regular visitor to light.
For those who are interested my Death's head hawk moths are now mating!!! I am beyond excited!
