Now, as I see it......

Oxford Covered Market

We went to Oxford today to see the 'Discovering Tutenkhamun' exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum. There are no artefacts from the tomb in the exhibition apart from a few nuts and seeds; sadly, it is highly unlikely that any of the artefacts would ever be allowed out of Egypt again. Instead, the exhibition covers the discovery of the tomb in 1922 by Howard Carter and includes many of his notes, diary entries and letters. Very interesting, but no photography allowed inside. Afterwards we went to the Covered Market intending just a look round but ended up having a very tasty Steak and Kidney Pie, Mash and Mushy Peas with Gravy at a stall there, and buying a big bag of beef bones for making stock. Apologies if all this meat talk has offended the sensibilities of any vegetarians out there!
