Acorn Still Life

August first today, gosh the summer is moving right along.

I was surprised to see an acorn on the ground that had been freshly cut.

I realized the squirrels are busy harvesting from their “garden” and burying the acorns, just as we are collecting veggies from our garden and freezing the over abundance.

It seems the squirrels are aware of the approaching autumn weather far in advance of my awareness of the change.

I’m happy to bask in the warm summer sun and be blissfully ignorant.

My focus for today is on the adventure of riding my first Century tomorrow.

T-10 hours to the start of that 100 mile ride.
