46 days to go

The summer seems to have disappeared today. It has been raining steadily since first thing in Argyll and I have also been fighting off a sneezy, wheezy cold which I started to get in the middle of the week and which Cathleen seems to be taking on too.

So instead of being in Glasgow for the last Saturday evening of the Games I am at home having spent the day cleaning off emails and constituency correspondence (as ever) but not venturing far.

However after a couple of hours of even more torrential downpour than usual we became aware of the noise of the stream next to the house, thundering like it does in the middle of a winter spate. So we went out to have a look and found this - banks burst and water cascading down over the garden towards the house.
