I've been faffing around with the settings.
Just, recently, discovered this device, which you can adjust to allow certain sizes of bird in. At this setting even a Jackdaw can cling on, reach in and snaffle the goods.
I'm not sure if an adult starling can't get in, or just that the young ones beat them to it and then defend their holdings.
Our local young are looking quite comical at present - young plumage with the spotted breast of an adult, almost look like another species at times.
