Working on the boat

Having left the cameras on the boat (by mistake) two days ago we decided to fetch the cameras and work on the boat at the same time. So we loaded up the car with tools, fibreglass, glue, filler etc and eventually headed off. We worked maybe 8 hours + an hour for "lunch", which we ate at about 7 in the evening!
Some leaks in the deck are fixed, bits of rotten deck have been removed and a hole right through the deck has been filled and covered.
Jan did the worst job involving fibreglass and resin, and a lot of swearing. It is all very sticky, chemical and smelly. I passed tools and made reassuring comments.
I fixed a major leak into the cabin, removing a rotten section of wall and replacing it with another beam and some glue/filler on the inside.
It's tricky dealing with wooden boats because as you sail everything flexes to a certain degree so you have to deal with it so it can flex, or fix it strongly enough so it doesn't flex, which may cause problems elsewhere.
We shall see how it all works...
Many thanks to my lovely wife who likes to works on boat fixing despite not liking sailing!
