Cuillin Ridge from Elgol, Isle of Skye

Down the single track road with passing places to the tiny fishing village of Elgol to view the magnificent Cuillin Ridge. CJ recounted tales of climbs and abseils up there years ago.

Onwards to Armadale, for the ferry to Mallaig, and down came the rain. Once back on the mainland, we had a brief stop to admire the Silver Sands of Morar. Even though it was pouring, a family were down at the shore with their fishing nets, making memories.

Next stop Glenfinnan. We walked up to the viewpoint, to take in the swirling mists down the loch with Bonnie Prince Charlie's monument commanding the shore. Also, to show our visitors the train viaduct, of Harry Potter film fame.

We had hoped for dramatic views of Ben Nevis from Corpach, but you wouldn't have known there were any mountains there, the clouds were so low. What weather.
