The Puff the Magic Dragon Effect...

It shall be hence forward be known as "The Puff the Magic Dragon Effect".

It is when you hear something and assume it to have a certain meaning then find out years and years later that it you picked it up wrong and it completely changes the original memory.

Up the town yesterday on Dunfermline bus adventures, we went to the 'Charlie and Lola' Shop (Waterstones for anyone over the age of 3 and/or outside our family) to pick up a couple of books for the kids being so good. We picked up some crazy book about mixed up nursery rhymes and a story book version of Puff the Magic Dragon.

Now what fancy stuff did Jackie Paper take to Puff while he was frolicking in the autumn mist in a land called Honolee?...

Well I thought it was 'ceiling' wax which has actually never really made sense to me but I just accepted it and for some strange reason never questioned it. Maybe there was some technique of waxing ceilings in times of yore whenst this song was written.

This weekend, I found out that it is actually 'sealing' wax which makes a whole lot more sense and leads to no further questioning.

In similar circumstances, did you also know that Desmond Dekker didn't need to go to A&E because his ears were never alight either?!?!
