Spent the day driving around Los Angeles and getting our bearings while passing through all those places that have become a part of our lexicon due to movies, songs and scuttlebutt ... Santa Monica Boulevard, Rodeo Drive, Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Hollywood Hills etc.

Spent some time at the beautiful art deco delight, the Griffith Observatory. Through amazing philanthropy and foresight, the land was donated and the observatory built to make astronomy available to the public. It has trained pilots for good and bad (war + space), but has always remained free to the public.
