Yangon Divisional Court, formerly Currency Dept.

This building was the Currency Department of the Accountant-General of Burma. It housed the offices which oversaw the collection of Government Revenue, which came from opium (importation and legal sales), salt, custom duties, railways, post office, telegraphs, tributes, military works and maker irrigation projects.

It was built in 1900 and extended in 1905. It was bombed in WW2, and is the oldest masonry structure in the City of Yangon.

After independence it has served as courts.
