Northern Exposure

By Northern

The east end of our rock.

There aren't many days I don't look out the window and think how great it is to live where we do but there are some days when I stop and look around and feel even more lucky than usual.

This was one of those. Pack a picnic, walk out the door, leave the car to have a rest, wander down to the beach and then head out to the far easterly point of our island. Not a long walk but one that takes you far from everything with just yourselves and the neighbours for company... by which I mean our local seal colony, who were enjoying the sunshine, basking in the sunshine and singing a lot.

This is where we stopped to eat our piece and as you can see Campbell spent a happy half hour climbing up and down and along this excellent example of devonian era lake Orcadie geology.
