The Walking Dead

In my copious spare time [ha!], I'm re-reading The Walking Dead graphic novels as preparation for chatting with artist Charlie Adlard on stage at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. [The event is 9.30pn on Sunday April 17th, tickets still available here.]

More than 20 years ago I gave Charlie some of his first commissions as a comics artist, painting strips for the Judge Dredd Megazine. His storytelling was better suited to line art and his productivity shot up after charlie switched o B&W.

His first brush with major popularity came drawing the X Files comics in the 90s, but it is an artist on The Walking Dead that his name recognition exploded both within the industry and beyond.

Been years since I've seen Charlie, so it should be a good natter!
