100 years old

This jetty probably isn't 1oo years old but a resident at the Nursing Home Hamish and I visit turned 100 today. She is not one of those sprightly 100 year olds who are on TV but her family were there to celebrate the day with her and there were flowers galore and a cake the size of a small car. The youngest great great great great granddaughter (I am not sure about those greats but she was only 5) had her photo taken with Hamish so he was a small part of the celebrations. It got me thinking about the changes in the world she must have seen since she was born just after the start of the First World War. From letters to texts and email and who would have thought back then that everyone would have a phone and carry it around with them let alone the internet. The advances in medicine and generally our lives would never have been envisaged I would have thought. Anyway, happy birthday Rita.

Oh, and do you think that this could be Elvis?
