East of the Rockies

L and I drive for 6 hours
west to the Rockies
and circle back to Calgary
We stop for ice cream in Cochrane
We cruise past my old stomping grounds
around Canmore
We turn into Kananaskis
where last June flooding
tore out roads and bridges
We take detours and avoid gravel patches
We stop for wildlife to cross ahead of us
Black Diamond and Okotoks
fall behind us
We are back in Calgary for a glass of wine
on the sundeck before dinner
