Wi' a hundred Pipers......

The World Piping Championships are held in Glasgow in August of each year, and there have been pipe bands all over the city this week, with pop up concerts in Buchanan Street, George Square, and other places, and events all over the city.

Today was the first day of competition, and we headed to Glasgow Green to see the bands in action.

It was great, well supported, and bands from all over the world, and everyone having a good time. We listened to quite a few of them going through their paces under the watchful eyes and ears of the very strict judges.

I watched the Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Band from West Lothian go through their paces under Pipe Major Ross Walker. They were very good to my amateur ear, and looked very smart in their Ancient Hunting Fraser tartan. So blip sorted.

The weather was kind to us all today too, although the sky at times was heavy, it was dry all day and with sunshine intermittently.
