Team Scotland Athletes Parade

Pipes and drums, police outriders, Clydesiders and seven open topped lorries carried just over 200 Commonwealth Games Scottish athletes from Kelvingrove to George Square this afternoon. It was really busy in the city centre, crowds taking up position an hour or so before the event. A real celebratory atmosphere. Flags of all sizes flying everywhere.

I managed to get a place on Argyle Street, and then walked round to Royal Exchange Square to see the convoy pass by the Duke of Wellington outside GOMA.

Two gold medallists here, Judo players, sisters Kimberley and Louise Renicks. Kimberley on the left, won Scotland's first gold medal of The Games.

"Pure Dead Brilliant", "Geez A Wave", "Thank You Scotland".

10.45 pm. My boys have just returned home. Two car loads fully laiden, off to help unpack. I have them both together for one whole weekend.
