Sri Lanka - Day 10 - Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast we had a nice wander around the Royal Botanical Gardens; similar to Kew minus the greenhouses. We then drove the 60km up the very twisty road though the tea plantations to Nuwara Eliya, which is around 2000m above sea level. The area is known as "Little England" as the town 'seems like a piece of the English Lake District'. I would say it reminds me move of the area around Boat of Garten near Aviemore in Scotland.

On the way up we visited a Tea Factory and Plantation, with of course the opportunity to purchase some. Today's blip is of our hotel in the mountains; which is a converted tea factory, the lower photo is the view from our of our room, which has windows on three sides.
