Homage to Poseidon

A bright and beautiful day, I was out this morning gathering blackberries along the old green road. I have a good haul and will shortly be making a blackberry and apple crumble. I then went for an earlyish swim - quite a low tide, a sprinkling of jellies and the water remarkably fresh!
I then investigated this little sculpture - actually just a very small part of the whole. A few weeks ago a couple were camping out on these rocks and they've left behind them a wonderful collection of sculptures made with whatever came to hand. Several of the big flat rocks have been decorated in a very creative way with found objects and it's resulted in a very satisfying and natural piece of art. This is the final little cairn looking out seaward and everything here has been deliberately and carefully placed - seaweed, shells, rope, driftwood. A homage to Poseidon.

A stage further - who knew there was a rock stacking day!
