Wings & stings

Winged Toreador

winged toreador
gossamer cape
baiting, whirling ,
humming,
evading stinging wasps
drawn to sweet
nectar
drops luring
eluding
swift thrusting sword

The wasps and yellow jackets are clinging to all the hummingbird feeders as the flowers wane and their end of summer thirst powers both species to feed and gorge themselves. The signs, the hints of autumn are ever so slightly emerging.

Young male

For the Record,
This day came in with sun and clouds, a bit humid.

All hands healthy
