MonoMonday:Connection

The hip bones connected to the thigh bone by a ball and socket synovial type joint between the head of the femur and acetabulum of the pelvis, as seen here on our family skeleton.

It is a real skeleton which has been in the family for several generations and was passed to my daughter when she entered medical school. It currently resides on (not in) the cupboard in her old room.

No disrespect is intended to the original owner of these bones. In fact I like to think he or she would be chuffed to know of their presence on the World Wide Web, an unimaginable concept in their time.

Of course this is a contribution to this MonoMonday's theme of Connection, ably hosted by WetCoastBob.
