High Brandlehow dawn

The weather forecast for this morning looked good for sunrise so I set the alarm for 5am. Despite the fact that the sky was overcast I drove along the western side of Derwentwater and walked down to the High Brandlehow landing stage.

It was well worth the effort and early start. It was incredibly peaceful and the lake was mirror calm. As the sun gradually came up the clouds gradually dispersed and the colours were lovely.

Memo to self - get up early more often!
