Rhapsody in Blue (s)

An amazing night last night. We had supper with friends overlooking Roaringwater Bay, sitting out on their terrace. So calm and still but tragically a few days earlier three people out boating had capsized, one drowned and two managed to swim a kilometre to the nearest island where they spent a cold and distressing night before being rescued next morning. We then went on to Ballydehob to watch Catalpa. A one man show based on the story of a whaling ship's voyage down to Australia to rescue six Fenians who had been transported. The actor played about 20 different parts and was quite gob-smacking. How did he remember everything and so many different effects going on as well - I especially liked the seagull. Only last week was he playing about 10 parts in Under Milk Wood!

More rushing around - a quick trip to Schull for esssential toiletries prior to the weekend away. A beautiful still day and lots of activity in the harbour plus some interesting reflections. Home and a card delivery arrived so a quick trip across the mountain to give TJ her share. No one at home but the sun was shining so I stopped off for a swim on the way back. She was already down there basking on the rocks. The water clear but very cool - no jellies though.

Girding our loins to cope with the trauma that is Heathrow! Prior to that son#1 and ourselves will pass like ship's in the night as he comes over to cat-sit. Will he find the car? Will he find his way home? Will he remember to pick us up?? if there's no sign of us by next week please remind him! And will the next book order arrive before we leave - currently somewhere mid Altantic!
