A book that's taken too long

I love to buy books but find I read in fits and starts. Sometimes I'm able to canter through 3-4 books in a burst; at other times I read the same book for weeks.

This one has had the misfortune of being one of the latter sorts. I've had it in Aberdeen, Falkirk, Edinburgh and Glasgow. It even made it to Barcelona earlier in the summer.

The truth is there's little satisfaction in such fragmented consumption so, tonight, finally, I'll finish it.
