Experiment

I like to experiment. I purchased some hyacinths in autumn and grew some in hyacinth vases in water and some in pots. As far as nice healthy flowers go the ones in the pots did better.

It is a beautiful warm sunny day here today and I pruned the roses. It is a bit hard to choose the right time, too early and frost ruins the new growth and too late... Well roses don't really mind, they are very tough plants. I took some hydrangea cuttings in autumn ( as per Snowy's advice) and they are shooting new leaves. I am going to try them in wicking pots this year, they are growing in big pots at the moment but need daily watering in the summer. Has anyone else tried that?
