A decorative day out

Taken as we waited outside 575 Wandsworth Road. Which is one of those National Trust properties that is by appointment only. I booked our places months ago as due to the delicate nature of the interior and the size only 6 people are allowed in at a time and in fact only 2 or 3 groups can go in a day.
It is a truly fascinating house which was bequeathed to the Trust on the death of the owner, Khadambi Asalache, who lived there for 20 years and had decorated the interior with his own wooden fretwork designs. You are not permitted to take photos inside so see link above to get a an idea.

These 3 very colourful characters were part of our 6 person tour and I have to say that studying them was as interesting as studying the house. They were very pleasant and entertaining.

On leaving there we walked down past Clapham Junction, picked up the River Wandle Trail to Merton Abbey Mills and then on to the tram and back home.
