The locals

A lazy day exploring the site. Swinging on the tree swings, fishing in the river, making dams, hiding in the grasses, rounding up sheep and stuff.

After a breakfast of porridge, cooked over an open stove, and a lunch of macaroni, cooked over an open stove, we decided to treat ourselves to a pub dinner in Bellingham. The wee guys seemed at home. And had a game of pool too.

Then, back to the site to get the fire roaring.

Then the stars came out. And boy, did the stars come out... Apart from a long (long) time ago trip to the Maldives, I haven't seen stars like them. (Boerigg is in the UK's national dark sky park after all). After getting warming cuddles from the wee CEO as I shared with him the full extent of my night sky knowledge, I sneaked off to the darkness of the field, with no camp fire or torch light to steal a real glimpse. Billions. All there. Satellites whizzing by and meteors showering. The works. Then back to the tent to read a very sleepy wee CEO a late story... and doze off myself (a bit earlier than the night before).
