PROSTATE CANCER.. Support Group Day

... as mentioned in an earlier Blip today was an important day in our Prostate Support Groups calendar.
The inaugural fund raising golf day had been organised for today at the local Dunheved Golf Course.

After all the much needed rain over the past week, the skies cleared this morning and it was a stunning day for the 98 players involved.

As always with these social fund raising days, the theme is on having loads of fun (as this group shows), and raising bucket loads of the all mighty dollar for the cause.

It showed that our local and Federal Government are prepared to show their support and input, and accepted an invitation to join in. Fiona Scott MP, the local member, and the Federal Minister for Health and Sport Peter Dutton MP able to co-ordinate his schedule to open the day.

So my Blip today has (left to right) Fiona Scott MP, our Prostate Group President David Wilkinson, the man of the day - main organiser Barry Dukes, and Peter Dutton MP.

Also along to support the day were a group from our local Penrith Panthers Rugby League Club. They are presently holding position on the league table in the top four, with only a couple of matches to go. Doing really well for a young team, who have had heaps of injuries this year.
We are hopeful of a Premiership!!!!???

And, of course any such day needs a winning group, and here we have the winners!!!

As mentioned the day ended up being perfect weather, and was well organised, and the funds raised were exceptional, a final tally yet to be announced but looks like over $12,000.
