Osprey

Despite the fierce talons, nasty beak, and red eyes, this young osprey is a big chicken. It would not let me get near it and would start peeping its head off like a baby chick then flew away. Before that, had to zoom in to get some decent shots of it. It's a beautiful raptor but doesn't act much like "death from above" when I'm around.

It's sitting atop one of the light standards that surround the soccer pitch in Mt. Albert. There are two nests there, also.
